I Love This Song!

I Love This Song! Darrel Perkins. 2015. Acrylic on Canvas. 8x10"
Recent commission for an off-color interpretation of a gramophone, where pushing boundaries is embraced.
Below are two other preliminary sketches before I decided to go in this direction.

First Try with Gouache

I recently painted a quick experiment with gouache, a pigment-heavy paint similar to watercolor.
Overall, I liked the high opacity and its ability to easily mask the pencil sketch beneath it.

Sketchbook Work

I'm constantly sketching quick ideas, but they don't always get fleshed out into full pieces.
Here is documentation of some recent examples.
