Marc Quinn - Myth (Venus)

On public display this week at Christie's auction house in NYC where it will be auctioned off as part of the Post-War & Contemporary Auction on May 14th is British artist Marc Quinn's incredible sculpture of a contortionist Kate Moss. Titled, Myth (Venus), the gorgeous painted bronze from 2006 envisions the iconic Kate Moss as a transcendent yogi adding to the idealized cover girl's already mythic pop culture status. And it's a steal at an estimated $800K—$1.2MM USD...

How to Paint Fish


I've put together an easy eight-step guide to painting fish. I used cadmium orange (with some cadmium yellow added), ultramarine blue, mars black, and titanium white oil paints, but other choices of colors or paints can reach a similar effect. If in a time crunch or organizing for a class, a single fish could be easily completed within an hour or two.
