No Your City

Nicolas Heller beautifully documents some of the inspirational characters that bring New York City to life. His first episode follows an acrobatic rickshaw driver, and I recommend viewing the others, including a 6'7" freestyling Jew, the most charismatic shoeshiner in Manhattan, popular graffiti artist Hanksy, and most recently, an artist who puts on a non-narrative, nihilistic, anarchist puppet show about literary theory. Decide for yourself if the big city makes people crazy or attracts crazy to it, and if these subjects are brilliant, crazy, or products of their environment.

I See You

Impresiones Gigantes

I'll be contributing art to this year's Impresiones Gigantes, a print festival out of Granada, Spain.
They print massive linocuts on the streets of the city with a steamroller, a glorious indulgence on my favorite pastime.
They organized an impressive lineup of international artists, which I'm grateful to be a part of.

In the spirit of one of my favorite cities in the world, I've included some photos I took in Granada during the summer of 2011. Mira.
